![]() The vast majority of DLCs, are there only to add content speicifc to other regions of the map.įor example, the native americans, when the game initially came out they were bare bones, with nothing going for them, but if you want to play as them it is highly recommended to buy the dlcs that add content specifically for them, like El Dorado, or Conquest of Paradise, now those dlcs also add content outside of the new world but that content is hardly necessary, it's just a nice bonus. They are not required, there is only 2 or maybe 3 DLCs that come close enough to the threshold that i would say "yes this are required", and that would not be enough to put the game over the hundreds of dollars, with or without discounts, probably more like 30 or so dollars with discounts. and unfortunately for Paradox they are a very easy target because all people need to do is to use their common assumptions about DLC and apply that to EUIV and then they can go to the reviews and claim that the real cost of the game is in the several hundreds of dollars, which is not actually true, but mob rage is hardly fair.ĭisasterpiece lähetti viestin:i usually want the complete experiance when playing games so seeing the price tag of almost 300 dollars made me click the back button as fast as i opened the store page. Which for EUIV and pretty much all Paradox titles is completely wrong, EUIV in itself is a complete product, it delievers exactly what it initially set out to deliever and everything that was promised.īasically what i'm trying to say is that Paradox created a perfect PR storm against themselves by screwing off a lot of people in developing nations by increasing the prices to match the american $, and then a bunch more people jumped on the rage train to say their general grievances with the entire DLC policy, most of which are not applicable to EUIV or even recent Paradox games, but the point is that they really don't like DLCs (again mostly because of what the rest of the industry has done with it). If you look through the comments and even reviews about it, you will see that there is a common theme on the rage and that is DLC, and then there is a bunch of different problems that people have with DLCs in general, a lot of which has nothing to do with Paradox, but the perceived notion that the AAA industry created over the years that if you don't buy the full package with all the post release content you are missing out and you are buying an incomplete product. It is not organized, just because there is a bunch of people doing at the same time, doesn't mean it's an organized effort, it just means that there is a mob. ![]() I'm talking about the organized and concerted effort to tank the reviews - changing review status, upvoting all negative reviews and downvoting all positive reviews, regardless of review content. I'm not talking about the regions where the price increased. Increasing lähetti viestin:it's more than just one or two regions, it's almost the entire planet ![]()
